Recent upgrade to windows office 2007 from windows 2003 get problem, since CD from MS not come as usual. Late for a month

Only serial number receive without CD. Time for upgrade to valid licence.

I have look around in google for a way to upgrade, this post has clear guide but I need to give screenshot for my friend who need more assistance with picture.

Backup registry entry, right click and choose Export

Save in some place

Find Product ID and delete

Close registry editor, open office program and type in valid licence.

Done

In case process not run smoothly, double click file backup registry file.

After testing ms groove for two days I think this application is rocks. I’ve been using ftp along with blog to collaborate with other team member but  groove make it’s fun.

Today, Boss call our team to his room. He said that he will make presentation of Office 2007. Sigh, I think it just another new version of MS Office. Until all team complete he show about MS Groove, about how collaboration looks like using groove. Wow, very good tool, all task can be synchronized using groove. I choose playing chess

After taking little team meeting I decide to upgrade to Office 2007 and I’m wrong again. Other component of Office 2007 are great too. No more question and delay time to upgrade to Office 2007

Before upgrade here’s the requirements  (taken from here) :

RAM : 256MB RAM minimum

Hard drive space : 2GB free hard drive space for installation; final amount used depends on which features are installed

I got used network card for my old computer, it’s enough to do more experiment with ‘real network adapter’ thats way I need to uninstall/remove my loopback adapter. My frist thought about removing microsoft loopback adapter is from control panel till I realize it’s behaves like real network adapter. To remove it off course via hardware menu.

Here’s step by step removing process Microsoft loopback adapter in my windows xp :

Chemistry class will be over and assignment need to collect  very soon. I have to set quick ftp server shared folder to accomplished that task.

Each student must send their task  via ftp. Filezilla already set in last meeting, now  must configure it for student, need quick and easy way.

1. Student save their task with winzip file with their name as file name

2. Using assigned user : class1 and password 123456

3. Shared folder in read and write mode,  they must honest, as md5 file of their task is the only proof for receipt

Due to change of branch location make my friend need to remote his computer (windows xp) office for efficiency, we discussing about using remote desktop in reality.

Remote desktop use port 3389 so the schema to remote is :

outside –> port 500 –> firewall forward –> 3389

Since load balancing policy, specific address need to remote desktop, e.g :

123.456.789.1011:500

then firewall will forward that request to port 3389

what if no firewall involve then direct public address accessible :

123.456.789.1011:3389

doh, no firewall ? Consider install zonealarm for free

In general :

Windows XP Remote Desktop PORT : 3389

80? no it’s web server

21? no, it’s ftp

25? no, it’s email

no more question please
