In my office we use many brand of printer, start from epson, canon to hewlett packard. All of them have special function. We use epson dot matrix printer for print receipt of payment, point of sales help and purchase order.

Canon working to serve lppm division, for printing id card, mail header and student card. Hewlett packard help marketing division for printing large banner as well as printing special promo for each event.

Same problem that all division face is ink.  When it come to ink low level some printer have degrade little to malfunction permanently. General division already put an effort to reduce the printing downtime by giving special training for division staff.

As time goes by, quality of printer getting down by work volume. I just thinking about my home printer (canon 265 that working very well), ink treatment is easy but whenever printer must deal with color everything goes bad.

My thought long term printing service are :

• Refill the ink in authorized refill center, reduce human error
• Buy cheaper cartridge with good warranty that able to send the order for quickly, free is preferred.

As printer goes cheap, vendor try to take profit from ink. Using right ink strategy such refill in authorized refill or buying cartridge alternative is good option for balancing bad printer.
